In Honor and Memory of
All Departed Brothers of our Saint John the Apostle Council 13467 who have entered into eternal life shall be honored and remembered in our daily Prayer Intentions and each year on the 13th of August with a Special Intercession during Vespers as a part of the Liturgy of the Hours.
On 19th February 1858, at the fourth Apparition, Bernadette arrived at the Grotto for the first time with a blessed candle. She held it in her hands up to the end. It is from this gesture that the custom of lighting candles was born.
All of our departed Brothers and their Families will also be honored and remembered in Lourdes, France with a Candle lit in the Candelabrum in the Grotto of Apparitions and a Special Prayer Intention offered during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass celebrated at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes.
"When the Virgin Mary asked Bernadette to light her candle at the Grotto, she smiled at her. I hope that, through Mary's smile, you will discover the tenderness and merciful love that God has for everyone. May you take hope from this smile. Thank you for your trust. Please be assured of our prayers for all those who put their trust in us."
Mgr. Olivier R. Dumas, Rector of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes
May the Lord bless you and give you comfort, healing and peace
With love and prayers
